The people who come for the summer are wealthy. The people who live here year round are not. Try finding a place to live when you make $25,000 a year cleaning houses or doing landscaping and the average home price is over $500,000. PROPOSED being the operative word here. I am always amazed at how information is spun to accomodate a political position.mvjoblesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10309418624413654078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7743530438680774250.post-5604916363750939192011-10-06T15:09:20.020-04:002011-10-06T15:09:20.020-04:00Coming attractions courtesy of SEIU:

Will you pledge to help the movement spread by visiting an Occupy event in Columbus? You can sign up and find a comprehensive list of events here:

http://action.seiu.org/occupy-wall-street

Over the last few weeks we've seen crowds of "Occupy Wall Street" protestors capture the nation's attention as they stood their ground despite aggressive police behavior and hundreds of arrests.

These courageous young activists have given us all a shot of inspiration and hope that we can indeed turn this country around.

We are proud of the actions taken by 1199 United Healthcare Workers East, SEIU 32BJ and other SEIU local unions to support the Wall Street protests.

But as we talk to other "Occupy" participants across the country, they tell us their first need is people.

So we're working with our friends at Daily Kos to see if we can help.

Find an Occupy event happening in your city and pledge to sign up to get involved. You can do that here:

http://action.seiu.org/occupy-wall-street

As part of a peaceful, united movement we can do so much more to demonstrate the increasing urgency of the crisis our country faces and shine a light on those responsible.

Let's go for it!

In solidarity,

Mary Kay Henry
President, SEIUDukehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04591777099221221753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7743530438680774250.post-20551418189201103752011-10-06T12:32:32.094-04:002011-10-06T12:32:32.094-04:00Agree 100% Anonymous.Agree 100% Anonymous.Dukehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04591777099221221753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7743530438680774250.post-79068371932462605262011-10-06T11:35:29.521-04:002011-10-06T11:35:29.521-04:00Anyone interested in where this will end if the un...Anyone interested in where this will end if the unions "win" need only look at the news coming out of Greece.

an unholy alliance of kids and union thugs riot frequently. They are demanding money NO ONE HAS.

That's Trumka's vision of the future. America runs out of other people's money and the unions launch a veritable civil war.

It is hard to imagine more ignorance that what we've witnessed thus far. Basically the Greeks are angry because the Germans won't give them any more money.

And the Ohio unions are angry because the Ohioan don't want to give them any more money.

the parallel is obvious and should not be ignored. Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Ireland are showing us the net result of socialism. As long as the unions can disrupt life they think they have us hamstrung. Basically the unions are saying, "Nice state you got here. It would be shame if anything bad happened to it"

Let's not kid ourselves they've been shaking us down for years. They are now unhappy because it isn't working too well for them and they have absolutely no idea what to do next.

skipAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
