When down, Driehaus cries foul.

A month and a half ago, Scott Rasmussen drew the ire of the left for what they claimed to be inaccurate polling.

We all know how that turned out.

Rasmussen, who was the first to proclaim that Scott Brown had a real shot to win Ted Kennedy's seat, showed how good he was by being up in the spotlight as the one pollster who called it first.

And now Ohio's own Rep. Steve Driehaus is crying foul over more poll numbers, this time by SurveyUSA, released by liberal blogger Jane Hamsher.

A big part of the problem is that Hamsher’s polls have been covered extensively in the media — not just in national outlets, including POLITICO, but also in local news outlets that are more important to a member’s local political standing.

One of them, the Cincinnati Enquirer, published the mid-January survey showing freshman Rep. Steve Driehaus trailing former GOP Rep. Steve Chabot by a steep 17-point margin.

“You’ve got to quit writing about these crazy-ass polls,” Driehaus told POLITICO. “They’re horrible.”

Congressman Driehaus, someone just called this for you.

Now an easy way to refute the poll released by SurveyUSA would be for the DCCC to release their own internal polling that, if they're right, would show a significantly different result.

But when challenged to do so, the Democrats refused.
