Last night, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) offered an amendment expressing support for a Constitutional amendment that would force Congress to balance the budget.
The amendment was supported 58-40. Every Republican and several Democrats voted "yes". Including... Sherrod Brown?
I must say I am pleasantly surprised, Senator.
Now, I know that this was really a meaningless vote, and not an actual vote to approve a Constitutional amendment. I sincerely hope that Senator Brown would still vote in favor of an actual amendment bill.
I'm excited that we can now count on Senator Brown on this issue. I mean, he wouldn't have voted this way solely because it was meaningless, and because he is up for reelection next year. Right?
