Ohioan to Obama: Take my business out of your ad!

Remember this ridiculous ad from President Downgrade, where he tried to tell us that he really said that we have to stand behind small business?

Besides the obvious lie about what he said, the owner of a specialty deli in Cincinnati saw something familiar: her own business. And she isn't happy about it. She wants the footage of her deli removed. From the Cincinnati Enquirer:

Ten seconds into the ad “Always,” a man is shown from behind, pushing up the security door of Krause’s while Obama’s voice talks about owners sacrificing to make their businesses run.

The owner of the store, Debra Krause-McDonnell, said that she did not give permission for her business to be shown and that some customers have told her they’ll no longer shop there.
“I’ve been put into a position I didn’t ask for,” she said Wednesday after the Hamilton County Republican Party sent out an email about the ad that accused Democrats of not responding to the owner’s concerns. “I’m a little angry.”
First, Barack Obama tells Debra Krause-McDonnell that she didn't build Krause's Deli and that somebody else made it happen. That was insulting enough. He then felt that since the government really built it, that he could use it in his commericial to make it appear that Krause's stands with him.

In reality, it is turning off Krause's customers. What did the Hamilton County Democratic Party have to say about that? They don't care, and accused her of having an agenda.
“From my conversations with her, it’s clear she’s not an Obama supporter,” he said. “So she’s got a political agenda.”
I see. She isn't an Obama supporter, so screw her. Not exactly the best way to repair the relationship Obama has damaged with Ohio's business owners, is it?

  1. You are only allowed to have a political agenda if it aligns with Obama.

  2. It is interesting and enlightening to read the comments on the local (Cincinnati) paper's website. It pretty much comes down to... this business owner is so stupid/petty, just let it go, the commercial is over with, move on, etc.

If the shoe was on the other foot (some liberal business owner having their store shown in a Romney ad), there would be lawsuits galore.

    Double Standard.
