You become a target for harassment, like when Ohio Democrats started creating a hit list of Ohio private employers who support reform.
They started listing Ohio companies, accused each one of "attacking Ohio's middle class", and listed each company's address and telephone numbers. And, they asked their followers to rebroadcast all of this information to their followers. You become a target for vandalism.
Yes, folks, the Ohio Democratic Party went into full attack mode against...Ohio job creators and employers! This is what you have come to, Democrats? Attempting to harm business who employ thousands of Ohio citizens?
You become a target for trespassing.
That sign belonged to Don Race in Huron County. He also had his mailbox torn down and some of his trees destroyed. Why? Because he supports Issue 2.
Signs supporting Issue 2 are few and far between in the Valley, but one local resident said even the small amount that are around appear to be too many for some opposed to the measure.
John Creed of Liberty Township said his sign urging voters to vote yes on Issue 2 has been destroyed twice. The sign is located on his property and faces state Route 11.
"We fixed it once and you can see the tape on it," Creed said. "They came back over and got it again."
Getting to the sign is no easy task. The vandal would need to park on the side of state Route 11, go through high brush and climb over a fence just to reach the sign.
Creed said he believes the vandalism is an intimidation tactic and one of the reasons why more people don't have signs in their yards. He said he supports the issue because he believes property taxes are getting out of hand.
The anti-reform people are out boasting about how they don't see any "Yes on Issue 2" signs around. Part of the reason is their intimidation tactics. The other is that the silent majority will show its support on Election Day.

I would love to think my earlier comment inspired this article because it is the truth. Lord only knows what would happen to my home and property if I put a Yes on 2 sign in my yard.
ReplyDeleteI can't put a sign in my yard because I can't get one!
ReplyDeleteThe reason there are so few signs supporting Issue 2 is that there are very few supporters of Issue 2.
ReplyDeleteMost likely culprit for ripping that sign is the wind.
ReplyDelete"The reason there are so few signs supporting Issue 2 is that there are very few supporters of Issue 2."
ReplyDeleteKeep living in your sorry little land of delusion.
"Most likely culprit for ripping that sign is the wind."
YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH.
Denial ain't just a river in Egypt, you know.
I love how on a post claim there's a silent majority in favor of Issue 2, one so silent no public opinion poll has been able to detect its existence, you have pro-Issue 2ers ironically talking about denial.
ReplyDeleteMore excuses from Bytor for Issue 2's failure. He's such a delusional fanboy of Kasich he just can't accept that Issue 2 is grossly unpopular.
You've taken three isolated incidents... one of which was nothing more than an economic boycott... and you're trying to portray that as widespread violence. It's pathetic and disgusting, but I've come to expect nothing less from the blog that has no standards.
Unions are the biggest exporter of Ohio's jobs.
ReplyDeleteUnions are anti-educations.
Unions are the main reason we have an 8 BILLION dollar deficit.
Unions are a small minority of the middle class.
And popularity says nothing about the validity of anything.
"Unions are anti-educations."
ReplyDeleteWow. Pretty illustrative of the intellect behind Issue 2.
So because unions aren't willing to allow workers to be paid ten cents an hour to make shoes, unions are responsible for outsourcing? LOL.
First, Ohio never had an $8 billion deficit. That was a canard. Overall, State spending in Kasich is only projected to decrease $2 billion, which amazingly is the annual cost of the 2005 tax cuts the Republicans passed under Bob Taft with no plan to pay for them.
You could fire every employee in the State and you wouldn't have even the first billion in savings.
When you have to discount the voice of the people in a democracy, you've already lost the argument.
You don't pay for tax cuts. That is liberal garbage. You spend what you take in.
ReplyDeleteIt's like saying you pay for a decrease in yearly wages. That makes no sense. It is the people money, taken from them. If you don;t get as much you just can't spend as much. Simple math, even for liberals.
"I am now being paid $10,000 less than last year, How am I going to pay for that!?!
I am distributing a cache of pro-Issue 2 and 3 signs and I can get them to most any part of the state in a day or two. Email me at: yeson2and3@yahoo.com
ReplyDelete"It's like saying you pay for a decrease in yearly wages."
ReplyDeleteI don't know how your household budget works, but if I'm seeing a cut in my income, we cut spending. You say this statement like you think the proposition of cutting spending to adjust for cutting taxes is crazy, but look at your own statement.
If you don't cut your expenses with a drop in income, you don't balance your budget. So, yes, tax cuts have to be paid for. If a restaurant lowers its prices, it's got to adjust its costs to keep in the black. You actually have to look at both columns of a ledger sheet to balance a budget. I know, crazy stuff.
As I said earlier. You do not pay for it. You adjust your spending. You have to pay for new spending. So what you should be asking, Modern, is how do we as Ohioans pay for it if we don't pass issue 2? The only answer is more taxes, fees, etc... We don't pay for less spending, we simply cut what we spend.
ReplyDeleteWe do not work for the State, we have not been put on this planet to fund governments. They serve us. We decide how much to give for what amount of service we require. If we don't want more taxes, the State must make adjustments necessary based on their income.
DO NOT let union thugs intimidate you. When it comes time to vote. Vote in favor of 2 and 3.
ReplyDeleteNO MORE PERKS that we cannot afford and no more intimidation to keep quiet. I believe in freedom of choice and they can Kiss my #%%.
If it is a fight they want then its on. I will fight for what I believe in no matter who or what.
I don't turn the other cheek.
