Presidential Embarrassment

President Obama has always had a deferential relationship with China, but comments he made in the past few days are particularly disconcerting. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, President Obama explained that he has been unwilling to tackle China’s blatant currency manipulation and other foreign trade violations for fear of “embarrassing China.” That, he said, would lead to an “all-out trade war.”

Obama bows to Hu Jintao
If there’s a trait that has defined President Obama, it is timidity on the world stage. Time and again, he has refused to take a strong stand for fear of offending our adversaries. Whether it is his failed reset with Russia, his failure to prevent Iran’s march to a nuclear weapon, or his inability to stand up to China, this tendency has led to one setback after another.

What the President fails to grasp is that American strength has done more to advance our interests in foreign policy than any other initiative, and American weakness only emboldens our competitors. A strong America is what the world needs, and it is what the American worker needs as well.

The President can’t lead out of fear, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that this president knows no other way.

  1. Speaking of embarrasment, I recently posted that I discovered that GOP candidate, Mr. Romney, had, in 1966, protested in FAVOR of the draft and in FAVOR of the Vietnam war. He then utilized his status as a "Mormon missionary" to claim exemption from the draft. I referred to Mr. Romney with a bad name, albeit with asterisks to stay within the margins of the "no profanity" request. Mr. Nick still saw fit to remove my post. My apologies. May I just say that the GOP candidate is a hypocr***.

  2. So you want to talk about what the candidates did...when they were TEENAGERS? Good Lord. Obama was snorting coke with the Choom Gang.

A hyproctite? Like Obama saying adding $4 trillion to the debt in 8 years was "unpatriotic", and then he proceeded to add $5 trillion in only 4 years?

Like condemning waarantless wiretaps, and then using them 4 times as often?

Like bombing Libya without Congressional approval?

    Gimme a break.

  3. So about the same age as Obama was when he was using drugs and sitting at the feet of communists, learning all the tricks of his trade.

Not that I believe what you wrote, anyway, because I'm sure such a story would be headlined on every MSM outlet.

How about we talk about the four dead Americans whose blood is squarely on the hands of this president; the lies he and his people told for two weeks (blaming a movie); and the fact that there was no extra security for an Ambassador, even though he believed a threat was imminent AND it was the anniversary of Sept. 11. Let's have a conversation about that, shall we? And let's do it in every mainstream media outlet in the world...

  4. There is a world of difference between college drug experimentation and protesting in favor of a draft that you yourself are using an exemption to avoid. A world of difference.

    Give me a break.

    1. Holding a sign that says "Speak out. Don't sit in" in protest to people who were disrupting the college doesn't mean you are for the draft.

It's apparent that you lap up whatever Daily Kos has to say about every issue. If it was as you describe, every major news outlet would have reported it long ago. You sound as crazy as the birthers.

  5. Nick, nobody believe Mitt Romney will actually label China a currency manipulator, especially his closest supporters:
    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0912/81254.html

The fact is that this Administration has been far more successful in combating China's unfair trade practices than any other Administration has been. And it's also true that at the time Mitt Romney publicly blasted the Administration for taking any such action against China.

Yep, Obama is sure is timid... just ask Osama bin Laden, who Obama had killed by ordering a raid into our "ally" Pakistan's terrority without consent.

Seriously, you can't believe the stuff you write. Nobody can. Mitt Romney will get tough on China on trade? Laughable.
