Thank you, President Bush.

Millions of Iranians have poured into their streets the past couple days.

In the face of a dictator, they have shown the courage to stand up and let their voices be heard in support of free elections.

In support of Democracy.

Would this have even been possible without the development of a free and stable democratic system as established in neighboring Iraq?

Without pictures of purple Iraqi thumbs, would millions have donned their green scarves to protest a brutal regime? Would they have had the guts to say enough is enough?

This may not be the end of the Iranian dictatorship, but it may very well be the beginning of the end.

And we have George W. Bush to thank.

  1. no, no, thank you President Obama. Give me a break with the Bush bs!!!!!!

If it wasn't for Obama's speech to the Muslim world, the people of Iran would not have a thought it made sense to back a more moderate person that is open to the West. It was Obama who inspired these people with his outstreched hand of friendship.

  2. Anonymous,

    You are misguided.

The example of Iraq gave the Iranians hope - not a single speech by a new leader.

The Iranians want Western prosperity and freedom. The very things Obama is taking from us.

  3. Odd. I never asserted it was all because of Bush.
