Congratulations Governor-Elect Kasich!

If you've been following my twitter feed, you know this already.

But I'm calling it.

John Kasich will be the next Governor of Ohio.

Tomorrow is a New Day. And a start of a New Way.

  1. a new day, a day where everything will be the same, except that the obstruction will come from the democrats

  3. Two schools of thought:

    1.) Be magnanimous.

    2.) Laugh at them mercilessly.

I'm going with 2. It's over, Modern Esquire. Good luck finding another politician to be owned by. I hope Strickland does something real nice for you for your services. Loser.

  4. Kasich only won by 100,000 votes. Pathetic Keeling.

  5. Congratulations, Keeling. It was a good fight. But while you go back to Virginia, we're going to hold your old boss' responsible, especially since he won with no mandate.

(And to the rest of you, grow up. Nobody like a sore winner.)

  6. Modern, I'm pretty sure its your own tone that brings out these responses. You want to act like an Alan grayson or Chris redfern on the opposing blogs, go ahead. But don't act indignant when the same tone is thrown back at you.

And I don't believe for one second that you wouldn't have been on here rubbing it in DJTs face had Ted won.

  7. The tighest gubenatorial race in how many years in Ohio is not a mandate.

Ohio has big problems and there was nary a tangible, step-by-step, this-is-how-we-do-it solution from the Kasich camp. I'm actually looking forward to hearing it.

  8. Modern, I am not going to gloat over any loss for you. I've been there in close losses before, it ain't fun. Your comments the last month towards folks like Keeling kind of made a situation where you had the brushback from folks coming.

Lot of reasons for the result last night. National environment, economy, etc. Some state issues came in too. Keeling was right about the Cuyahoga County scandal. It might have been the biggest liability for the Democrats this year in Ohio. You saw Republican candidates run better than normal in all of NE Ohio.

Good luck to Governor Kasich. He's got a tough job ahead of him.

  9. Bytor-

Well, you're going to believe whatever your going to... But I extended the same congratulations to Colton Henson.

You can excuse people being a jackass by claiming I'd act differently if this was some alternative universe, I guess, but I'm still going to extend it to you as well.

    Alan Grayson? That's rich.

All I did was call Keeling out when he flat out was wrong. Like when he said the DGA was pulling out, and other examples I don't really care to revisit. Or his polling analysis was just a tad bit misleading. I just pointed out the moving of the goalposts, but whatever.

If you can't be mature enough to accept my congratulations, fine. No skin off my nose.

  11. I'm not excusing anything, Modern. Simply explaining that you shouldn't be surprised or indignant about it. Your demeanor on these pages has been a lot of name calling and very nasty. The posts you are getting back are no worse than you've directed at Jon over the past year.

Thank you for the congrats. Agreed, it was a hard and well fought campaign on both sides.
