Dead Campaign Walking

The latest sign that Jennifer Brunner's campaign is on its last legs comes from Emily's List.

Not with what they're saying, but with what they aren't saying.

For months, they were trumpeting her as essential to maintaining control of the Senate. Many thought their help would help push her to victory. Through 2008 and into 2009, each newsletter mentioned her and they even maneuvered to get her something called the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award back in March.

Unfortunately for Brunner, the last they seem to have mentioned her on their website was in an April newsletter. Their current "Full Candidate Listing" doesn't even list her as one of their sponsored candidates.

The question now becomes, how long can she last and how much of a thorn can she be in Lee Fisher's side?

  1. You imply that they they removed her name from that list because she isn't doing well. That is totally wrong.

She's not on the list of endorsed candidates because they haven't endorsed her (yet!). EMILY's List very rarely endorses candidates this early in an election.

I think it's also a bit premature to declare her dead seeing as (despite relative mountains of cash) Lee Fisher is leading by only 1-2 points in a head-to-head
