62% of Americans believe the Stimulus failed.

No surprise here:
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds voters almost evenly divided in their views of the plan: 33% say it has helped the economy, while 31% think it has hurt. Twenty-nine percent (29%) believe the plan has had no economic impact.
This means during the 2010 elections, 62% of Americans will be vulnerable to paid media from Republicans highlighting the ginormous amount of waste that has been the $787 billion stimulus signature policy "achievement" of the Obama/Pelosi Administration. You may remember from back in February when I said how important it was that House Republicans came through with zero Republicans supporting the bill in the House. Well, thanks to Boehner and Cantor, GOP House candidates will all be able to say, "told ya so" to 62% of Americans.

This will be a winning issue in 2010.

UPDATE: It's worse than I thought. Thanks to Matt at WMD, we learned a bit more about the crosstabs of this poll.

Some interesting numbers...
  • 51% of 18-29 year olds say the stimulus has hurt or had no impact on the economy.
  • 69% of Independents.
  • 36% of Democrats!
  • 51% of moderates.
  • 64% of those making between $20k-$40k.
All are demographics that were essential to Obama winning the Presidency. And all are cynical about his greatest achievement.
