Ohio's employment situation somehow gets worse.

Congratulations Ohio on 17 months of double-digit unemployment!

Oh, and let's not forget the 15,400 fewer Ohioans that are gainfully employed since just last month.

And despite the population growing by 3,000, there are 15,000 fewer Ohioans in the workforce. That means they gave up even trying to get a job. It's that bad.

But what happens when the workforce shrinks? It adjusts the numbers that the unemployment rate formula uses. So when fewer are in the workforce, the lower the unemployment rate will go.

But despite over 30,000 more Ohioans out of a job this past month, Strickland & Co. will still claim victory. After all, the unemployment rate went down from 10.3% to 10.1%, right?

But from a pure political standpoint, it's not much of a victory.

Over 1 in 10 Ohioans looking for work can't find it.

And all on the watch of someone who built their 2006 campaign on the idea that he can turn around Ohio. He did. He turned it all the way around and off the cliff.

Thanks, Ted.
